Girls High Building Project

Torah Academy Girls High has embarked on a remarkable new chapter, transitioning from its previous home on Nilson Road, where it was housed for 21 years, to a state-of-the-art campus in Raedene. This bold move was born from necessity, as the school had outgrown its former facilities, which had deteriorated along with the surrounding area. In an inspiring show of hope and commitment to the future, a fortuitous property swap enabled the development of a purpose-built, cutting-edge campus that aligns with our expanding student body and holistic educational vision. Initial seed funding of R20 million paved the way, and the total R50 million investment has transformed the school into a dynamic space for academic excellence and personal growth. Since moving in, our students have flourished in an environment equipped with innovative classrooms and collaborative learning areas, fostering both intellectual curiosity and community spirit. This project’s success is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our building committee, generous donors, and devoted educators, including our principal, Morah Rebecca. Together, we are nurturing the next generation of leaders, and as we look ahead, we are excited to continue supporting our girls within this extraordinary environment, filled with optimism for the future of our school and our community. Here’s to a bright and promising future for Torah Academy Girls High! A fortuitous property swap has now enabled us to move to a far more suitable location in Raedene and it has given us the opportunity to develop a purpose built cutting edge campus that matches our growing student body and holistic educational. ethos Initial seed funding of R20 million has been graciously donated. We require a further R20 million to realise our vision. This is an investment in a growing Jewish school catering to a wide sector of the community – a school which itself is deeply and passionately invested in the future of our great Johannesburg Jewish Community.

Solar and HVAC

Before we could implement our solar project, we first needed to ensure that our infrastructure was ready to support it. With the guidance of a roof engineer, we carried out essential repairs, reinforced the structure, waterproofed and painted the roofs to prepare them for the installation.

This project helps mitigate the impact of load shedding on our students’ education and also addresses the rising cost of electricity, ensuring a more stable and cost-effective future.

The HVAC project has been an integral part of our larger solar initiative, and both have progressed side by side. We are pleased to report that the air conditioning units in the Girls High School have been successfully installed. The installation for the primary school is currently underway, and soon, both campuses will benefit from enhanced climate control, powered by our new solar infrastructure.
